Thoughts on Thursday!

Link up with my Gal Carolyn and play along!

1. Today is my Friday! Whoop whoop! I have HOLIDAY WEEKEND on the brain. We are heading North after our big softball game tonight. Holler! We will spend the weekend basking in the sun, hopefully. The girls will be doing some of this:

2. There will even be a band coming out to the Island via pontoon, on Saturday to play for all the "Laker's". This is real. Pretty enjoyable. Here's the band from last year's 4th of July festivities:

3. There will be plenty of family and friends to celebrate with. Here is everyone from last year, the Hubs and I were not present because I was 20 months preggo at this point and was probably crying in the cabin when this picture was taken. We love these people!

Sidebar: I will probably be the only one in a one piece swim suit that is under the age 35. Awesome.

4. Yesterday was my day of birth. I actually had to use a calculator to figure out how old I was. No joke. I'm 32 in case your wondering...For my day, I got a nice pair of diamond studs and golf clubs. Watch out Tiger Woods. My cake of choice you ask? Heath Bar Ice Cream Cake from Dairy Queen. Yummmmmmmmm!

 5. Justie or Jottie? That is our couple celebrity name. What is this for you ask? My Husband has 3 siblings and 2 cousins who are all very close. They all have significant others, except his Sister, she has the "12th Man" as we like to call him. Any who, we thought it would be funny to give everyone "couple" names. I'll introduce you all to my in-laws:

Justie or Jottie?

Chess

Rangie

Dolly

Those are my in-laws. Love them! Shoot better get going. We have a softball game to win! Then it's Bay Lake or bust! Have a great 4th everyone!!!

We Want to Know...

Photobucket

Time to link up with Impulsive Addict, Janette, Mamarazzi & Seriously Shawn. Do it up!

1. What was the last thing you searched for online?
Since I had a sick baby this weekend, I searched "Is Triaminic Infants Fever Reducer dosage the same as Infants Tylenol?" Poor Jack came down with pink eye this weekend AND spiked a fever and to top it off, had a case of the pukies. I had the Hubs pick up some "Tylenol" but since they pulled that from the shelves, he got Triaminic. The dosage is the same as Tylenol in case your wondering...

2. If we visit your home state, what is one MUST we should do before leaving?
First, if your coming, please come in the summer. MN is way better in the summer, unless you enjoy outside snow activities which I do not. One thing that you would have to do is go to a Twin's Baseball game. Nothing better! OR if you want to see some of the grossest, tie dye wearing, mullet sporting people ever best people watching ever - come to the MN State Fair at the end of August. I can even get you a  State Fair Bingo sheet to use while watching from the Beer Garden.

Here is Target Field on a tornado-ish evening.

  3. What do you think Pharmaceutical companies should invent, a pill for that isn't on the market yet?
So many things, but would they take them? I would do more of an immunization at birth. It would be for bad parenting. That way they would either not be able to bear children, or they would be fixed and be good parents. There is nothing worse than seeing bad parenting. My second immunization would be for people to learn to merge. Seriously. Drives. Me. Nuts.

4. When was your first kiss? Was it good or bad?
I would say 6th grade maybe? It was closed mouth, and I remember thinking "This is my future husband. I'm in love." Ha, ha!!! Pretty sure he even gave me his ID bracelet to wear while we were "going out". Bahaha! Although, I must say, this kid has nothing on my Husband.

5. What is your guilty pleasure TV show that you cannot miss?
Big Brother for sure!! I cannot wait until tomorrow when they reveal the cast for Big Brother 13. I also heard that dynamic duo's from the past will have a significant role. Please, please, keep Rachel and Brendon off the dang show. I cannot stand them. They are not a cute couple. Puke.

Friday Confessional - Photo Friday, shhh.

Photobucket

I confess... I may have wasted spent hours on picnik today. Whoops. Here are some of my favorite photos on this fine Friday. P.S. Most of these hail from our April trip to Key West. Love that place. You must put that place on your travel list. So relaxing. So pretty and so NOT like MN.

This is one of the most overdone wedding photos ever. And it's so dumb. We are not 5. This is my Hubs and I btw, playing Peek-a-boo, on Smather's Beach, in Key West, FL. Moving on...

The next one, is my middle bae bae Ella. She's mastered the fake smile quite nicely. Well done.

The next one is my little family. I love these people. Alot. I also love how Ella didn't bat an eye while standing on my dress. Also, Taylor (far right) and I do this strange head tilt. For every picture. I will find another one to prove it...

Here it is. We have the tilt down yo.

This is one of my favorite pictures from our trip. We went on a sunset cruise on an old pirate type ship. Schooner Appledore was the name I think... Notice the classy plastic cup of Chardonnay. That's how I roll.

My little divas. I had to take a picture because well, they were actually getting along...

Still getting along....

This was not in Florida. This one of the photo sessions Jack had to endure with Taylor and her friend.

I do love this picture of Taylor, even though she looks at least 18. Tear, tear.

Love of my life.

This is why you don't pay $300 to get your hair done for a beach wedding. Hair fail. I had this rooster thing going on. Whahh whaaaa.

Here is my family. Both sides. I love them all.

Don't you just love wedding's?

Happy Friday and most importantly, HAPPY WEEKEND!

Thoughts on Thursday.

Linking up with my Gal Carolyn.

1. This week we had a pot luck at work. Yeah, fun I know. Even better when it's a "Walking Taco" pot luck. Sick. Gross. Blah. One friend was going to bring in taco shells for the one's who don't like mixing cheese Doritos's in with taco fixings, but she didn't. Dam. I had to actually eat like I was in Jr. High (like someone was forcing me to stuff my face at work, yeah that's what happened.) I was hungry. Anyways, there is nothing WORSE than the guy that signs up for a main ingredient such as MEAT and doesn't come through. This is the same guy that never brings anything for anything. He also is the guy that NEVER chips in for group presents but still signs his dang name on the card. Sorry buddy, you do not deserve a thank you card. I'm on to you. He also happens to be the same guy who CLIPS HIS NAILS AT HIS DESK. Can you tell I'm a huge fan of said co-worker.
What am I the work police??!

2.  Last night I may have had a half bottle of wine while watching "America's Got Talent". Anyone else see the pole dancer dude? Yeah the guy in the silver booty shorts, wearing the silver body shimmer and heels? I love him. My Husband however, the look on his face, would suggest he did not.

3. I'm thinking a blog redesign is in order. Would it be weird to change the name of my blog too?

4. Subway Sign. Ok, I will admit I have an etsy addiction. I love it. My most recent purchase was a subway sign for our house. I came up with so many unique places and sayings that are special to our family. I want it bad. Please, lady, hurry up. Please!

5. I am currently reading "The Girl that Played with Fire", I love it so far. Who the h is Zala? OK, don't tell me. I am reading it on my Kindle and let me tell you, it helps when your on the elliptical. 2 chapters then some iPod action and your in a good 40-60 minutes. Makes the torture workout so worth it.

6. We are heading to the lake (our cabin for anyone not in MN) tomorrow after work. We better see sun. I'm talking to YOU Mother Nature. Summer officially started on Tuesday. Enough of this 56 degree and rain crap. I'm over it. You were not very nice this past winter and so far have not redeemed yourself. I need some boating time in STAT. Please and Thank You! Oh we may or may not be getting a new tube this weekend for the kids. Stay tuned...

7. My birthday is next week. You know your getting old when you can't even think of what you want anymore. (P.S. I would LOVE to be able to quit my job and become a stay at home Mom with hobbies, if your reading this Babe!) Maybe a nice pair of earrings? Let me think about this one...

We Want To Know Wednesday

Photobucket

1. What is the best or worst pick up line you have ever been given?
The WORST has to be some random trashy man at our local hole in the wall favorite bar, he was singing karoke all night and singing TO me and my friends. You know that uncomfortable stare that makes you actually laugh at them? At the end of the night, he approaches me with "do you wanna come back to my place? I have cable."  FAIL. This man was NOT my future Husband, that I was sure of. Pretty sure he told me his name was T-Roy. Also pretty sure I ran into him at a Twin's game and he was selling snow cones. I did not say hi if your wondering.

 2. What is the most & least favorite day of the week?
Oh easy. LEAST favorite is Monday, hands down. I actually start to hate Sunday evening's as well just because I know what day is next. My FAVORITE day of the week is Friday, it's the light at the end of the tunnel. Freedom.

3. How many hours of sleep do you require each night?
I require at least 7 but prefer 9. I never get 9 but hey, a girl can dream right. Pun intended.

4. Is there a song that takes you back in time? What song is it and what memory is it attached to?
Oh good one! I have so many that spark memories, but one that I've recently heard, then downloaded from iTunes is "Livin On the Edge" by Aerosmith. This song brings me back to my early teenage years. We always looked forward to the Carnies that rolled in and set up those sweet rides in the parking lot of our community center. I specifically remember this song playing while on the ride called "The Zipper". I would go on this ride, over and over. Actually, I think it was the only ride I went on. I always think of that memory whenever I hear this. Strange how that sticks.

5. What is your biggest guilty pleasure?
Carmel Highrise from Caribou. Dam them. Why do I feel the need to roll through the drive through every morning. Never mind how crazy expensive it is or the fact that there are a zillion calories in it. At least they have Non fat whip now. I'm gonna break this habit, I hope.

And for the record, I had some pretty freaking sweet pictures to add and stupid Blogger won't upload anything. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Put me in coach.

My Husband & I are coaching Ella's fast pitch softball team this year - The Rockstar's. They are 2-3rd grade girls (Ella is only a 1st grader but they didn't have enough kids in her level so moved her up.)

We didn't go into the year planning on being coaches but they had so many girls sign up, they wanted to form another team to keep the numbers down. I must have gone back and forth all day about it. We do have 2 other kids, one of whom cannot be left by himself so babysitting could become an issue. We drive 2 hours north every weekend to our cabin, so we didn't want to commit if that would affect cabin time. It is a pretty big commitment to make. BUT, we did want to have those precious memories of being Ella's coaches. She was begging me to coach from the get go. (I played growing up and I can't remember a summer without playing softball and now I finally have a daughter that wants to play! My oldest cried when she got hit in the shoulder with a tennis ball, she's a dancer not an athlete and that's OK too...) I have been a member on our work co-ed team but decided this year that I can only do one or the other. Kid team here I come, beer league - it's been real.

I never imagined I would love doing this as much as I do. The girls are so sweet and usually give 100% (except the one who draws in the sand ha, ha!) We googled all sorts of drills to do and make this really fun for the girls. I brought freezies and spray bottles to the game a couple weeks ago when it was 103 out to keep the girls cool (so not the norm for MN weather). I WAS NOT GOING TO BE A CRAPPY COACH. These girls would LOVE playing and WANT to come back and play next year. I also recruited my Brother In Law and his sweet Girlfriend to help out. They kids LOVE them too. I was actually bummed when I found out there is no fall ball for these kids. What will we ever do with our time? This takes 2-3 nights a week away from being home but it's so worth it. My daughter loves it and that's all that matters. Oh, for our end of the year party...we are going to play 1 final game: Kids vs. Parents. I. Cannot. Wait.

Anyways, my point of this post was this...Tonight we have another game if the rain will hold out. This morning I went into Ella's room to wake her up wake and find her like this:

She's all dressed and ready to go for tonight's game. I love her.

Miscellany Monday. Weekend update.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Oh Happy Monday! As I figured I would, I really need a weekend from my weekend. Here's a little recap:

Friday night was spent outside in our yard digging. We are trying to make it look pretty, like real grown ups live there. Just some basic landscaping which is turning into a pain in the arse. My Husband works with alot of contractors in his line of work, so he was able to score ALOT of cedar mulch at no cost. BONUS. It's hard work to dig up sod - plus add a baby in the mix who has lost interest in the exersaucer and no longer cares about the BIG AIRPLANES that are flying overhead. I would not fare well as a laborer I can tell you that much. Any who, we decided it was worth it to hire my younger cousin to come dig. Done with that digging business. I prefer to direct, the head Foreman if you will.

Saturday was Parade day. Both girls were in the Parade. Ella with the Girl Scouts (she carried the big banner) and Taylor with her Cheer team. The forecast was rain and more rain. It was looking a little questionable out there but we came prepared. 1 large golf umbrella and 1 regular umbrella. We got our seats early, so we wouldn't have anyone sitting in front of us. Or not. A family of 6 came and sat practically on top of us, and another woman and her son sat right in front of us. I was annoyed. They didn't ask, just moved on in. Oh don't worry, move right on in. Oh and please smoke your cigs right here, yep, that's it. I don't mind, neither does my baby. Jerks. P.S. There were PLENTY of free space across the street. But hey, who am I. We saw Ella come by and she was smiling so big. So proud. Famous almost now, was the look I read off her face. So cute. So she joined us after she was done and we waited to see Taylor. We were really looking forward to watching them perform. Then it started sprinkling, I actually welcomed it. The "Intruder's" were not prepared. They were getting soaked. HA. We sat and smiled, dry under our umbrella's. They scampered away. See ya. Then we waited. We saw Taylor rounding the corner, then the downpour started. I mean, it was turning into a circus. We quickly grabbed all our stuff and "ran" for the car. I had on flip flops and those are really fun to run in, with a baby and a golf umbrella. One hand on each. Oh, my long skirt was getting soaked and getting heavier and heavier. Jack was enjoying it. Ella was enjoying it. That's about it. We basically just had Taylor run back with us and we were out of there. I asked if she was able to do the routine at all and she replies "yeah like 80 bazillion times!" At least we snapped a few pictures of her walking around the corner. We ended up with photos of both girls, mission accomplished. Here is Jack waiting for the parade to start. He enjoyed watching the cars go by, all the entertainment he needed.

Sunday was Father's Day. I got up early with Jack, let my Husband sleep in, cut up fruit, and I made a sausage egg bake which was so good! We had mimosa's to top it off. It was such a good breakfast if I don't say so myself! We then headed to my Grandparent's to spend time with my side of the family. Jack was in his new big boy car seat for the first time and he LOVED it. The girls picked out an Elmo movie for him and he could not stop smiling. Here he is (in his jammies, he had just woken up from a small nap and we were in a hurry....)

How. Funny. Is. He? I got another good one for you. My handsome hubs was feeding Jack his lunch and I could not help myself. He opens his mouth whenever dishing a bite to Jack. It's funny. I do the same thing but he "bites" too. Here you go! Try and feed a baby and not do this. Or try not to laugh. Your welcome!

That is my Husband Justin! He reads this too sometimes, HI BABE, I LOVE YOU!

We ended the night in bed with our Kindle's, he got his for Father's Day. It made me laugh, both just laying there reading our e-reader's. Just like any other old married couple right? I feel so lucky sometimes. Life is good.
