This weekend was a blur.
Friday night we went to the High School Homecoming Football Game. Let me tell you, if you want to know what my version of Hell is like, that would probably be it. We arrived fashionably late, so that means you sit in the Junior High section, which equals hell. I swear these kids never even sat down to watch the game.
Up and down. Up and down.
We stayed to watch Taylor dance in the Halftime show and were out of there.
Saturday morning was spent getting Taylor all dolled up for her very first Homecoming Dance. Whew. That was stressful at times but a day I will never forget. She looked absolutely stunning.
How is she a Freshman in High School?
My Brother in Law's girlfriend did her hair. I loved it. We added some spray glitter too so she was extra sparkly! I did her makeup myself. Not so bad if I do say so myself!
Now her dress....It was a little on the short side if you ask me but "everyone else has wayyy shorter." So last week we took it into the tailor to get the top taken in so it wouldn't fall off. I had Jack in the car on the verge of a nervous breakdown so I sent her in to get measured with her friend. What harm could be done right? She just needed to try on the dress and bam. Done.
Well, note to all the future Mommy's of Freshman Girls. *Do NOT send your daughter in to the seamstress by herself.
My little darling took it upon herself to also have the tailor "take the dress up a little bit in length".
Yep, she did that. She told me all nonchalant-like the morning we were picking it up. Great. Awesome. So be warned. Do not trust them to go in for simple alterations...The already short dress, may come back even shorter.
Now for the group pictures.
There were definitely girls with shorter dresses. It made me feel a tiny bit better! Oh, they did have black booty shorts on under their dresses too. Well, my kid did anyways.
My other half of Saturday was at the Gopher Football game. They played so bad. Ugh. It was painful actually. Lost to my Husband's Alma Mater NDSU. The embarrassment level was off the charts. Oh well. Right there up with the rest of MN Sports right now.
Now for my Husband's hat. He pulls this awful thing out of the back of our truck in the tailgate lot and says "should I wear this?"
Simultaneously, six of us answered "No."
He doesn't listen. The only thing that would have made that hat better was a fishing hook.
Here we are. Rooting against each other. He would clap and cheer really loud and I would stick my hand over his mouth and try to hold his hands together. Which was hard to do for a majority of the game. He enjoyed the game though.
So that was Saturday in a nutshell. I'm ready for a nap just thinking about how tired we were by the time we got home.

Fill in the Blank Friday!
Linking up with Lauren @ The Little Things We Do.
1. The best thing I did all week was adhere to my room cleaning schedule as we try and get our house on the market by next week. YIKES!
2. The smiles on my children's faces & their laughter make me super happy.
3. Pets are so much work. Currently battling the dog hair. Dog Hair 1, Dottie 0.
4. My family is the best thing about my life.
5. With the cooler weather I am looking forward to lazy Sunday's in sweats watching football. Unless the Viking's lose again this weekend. Then I'll actually have to nap instead. Win-win?
6. Something that is on my "wish list" right now is for our house to sell super fast and for us to find the perfect place to call home. All by Christmas please.
7. This weekend I am going to get my daughter all dolled up for her very first Freshmen Homecoming Dance, tailgate and attend the MN Gopher's vs NDSU football game and hopefully enjoy a night out with my Husband, family and friends. MUCH NEEDED break please and thank you! Then back to the de-cluttering and cleaning I go.
Happy Friday Loves!
